I have chronic wrist pain and vertical mice help a lot. If you've never used a vertical mouse, it will take some getting used to but I can't imagine not using one now. It becomes natural over time, but you will definitely need to give it about two weeks.
I have been using ergonomic vertical mice for over 5 years now. First it was Evoluent brand mice I got through my office when I was working at Twitter, then I moved to the Logitech MX Vertical when it came out. That was great; comfortable and charged via USB-C. But it was maybe a tad too large for me.
Then the Logi Lift came out and it was exactly what I needed. A tiny bit smaller, and the mouse clicks are much quieter. Unfortunately, it is not rechargeable via USB-C. It uses a single AA battery, but it lasts a long time. For example, 6 months of use got me down to 70-80% battery.
One nice benefit to using Logitech mice is the customization software and the ability for each mouse to switch between three channels. This proves hugely useful when use the same mice between various devices. I constantly switch between using my mice with my personal MacBook Pro, work MacBook Pro and gaming desktop PC.
Poor durability
All that being said, every vertical mouse from Logi that I've had has eventually had one of the mouse buttons die after a year or two. It happened with my MX Vertical, and it happened twice with my Lift. I was able to get the first one replaced through support, but it was a hassle and the 2nd time I just paid for a new one. But I still love and recommend this mouse despite that. At least until a better vertical mouse comes on the market.
