I have become quite fond of the little Casper Glow as my bedside light. It's a rechargeable and wireless smart light. You flip it over to turn it on, twist it to adjust brightness and use the app to have it automatically turn on slowly in the morning at a time you set to naturally wake you up. It also slowly turns off in the evening as you get ready for bed.
I ended up getting a second Casper Glow after liking it so much. It's so convenient to use and the fact that you can pick it up and use it anywhere ends up being really handy.
That being said over the years (I've had them for 4-5 years now), both of them stopped charging. The spring-loaded pins on the charging base stopped making contact. I opened them up, desoldered the pins, and replaced them with new ones I found online and they are working again.
I love the Casper Glow lamps (small, rechargeable, portable, neat UX) but they have a fatal flaw.. they use cheap pins in the charging base that fail quickly and don’t charge. I got a @thepine64 Pinecil usb-c soldering iron and replacement pins from digikey to fix it myself👌
