BarCamp comes to Atlanta! If you live in or near Atlanta and have moderate geekiness, check out the BarCamp Atlanta wiki page. I can't really explain what BarCamp is as I have never been to one, but with big proponents like Matt Mullenweg, founder of WordPress, and Flocker Chris Messina (thanks for letting me know), you know it has be good. It's basically a geek gathering.
BarCamp is an ad-hoc un-conference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.
Everything is still in the preparation stage and no one's sure when it will be held, but chances are that I'll be there. So if you fancy meeting me and socializing with some local area tech gurus, sign up. I know a few of you are in Atlanta, so I expect to see some sign ups. :-P If you happen to work for a big company that would be interested in sponsoring it, I'm sure that would be appreciated. Take a look at some of the more interesting BarCamp photos on flickr.
