Wondering why one of your OS X applications seems a little sluggish on your Intel Mac? Maybe it is running through Rosetta translation and could be a PPC application. Well there is an easy way to find out via Activity Monitor. Fire up Activity Monitor in Applications » Utilities. You will see a column on the right labeled kind. Simply enough it tells you whether that application is "Intel" or "PowerPC." This is especially good for Mac users that have just switched to an Intel Mac and have kept many of their old applications, letting them pinpoint what needs to be upgraded.
