Explorer Daypack, Olive. Made with cordura ballistic nylon.
I'm not quite sure where I first heard about the Japanese brand Yoshida & Co., but I've come to appreciate their well-crafted, military-inspired bags. Every bag is handmade by their skilled craftsmen in Japan with premium materials. As such, they're not exactly cheap.

I'm drawn to the more traditional style of this bag, as compared to my other backpacks that are more modern but give a bit of an uninspired techy feel. The Explorer Daypack comes in 3 sizes and is a bit hard to find in the US. Maybe one day I'll consider getting one of those forwarding services that provide you with a Japanese address and forward packages to the US when I want to drop $500 on this bag. It is available on Amazon from third party sellers but not in the medium (21L) size I'd prefer.
