Olight Seeker 4 Pro flashlight in OD Green
I wanted something a bit more powerful than my almost keychain-sized Boruit V10. I use my flashlight casually when doing chores outside the house, and when taking my dog out at night as I've seen opossums and raccoons in my yard and coyotes in the neighborhood before. And it's just nice to have a powerful flashlight for emergencies or in the car.
I initially went down the path of looking at customizable flashlights that run the Anduril firmware, such as flashlights from Sofirn, Emisar, and Fenix. If you search the r/flashlight subreddit for Anduril, you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know about flashlights.

I decided I wanted something simple I could get quickly from Amazon. Olight has become an increasingly popular brand, so I looked at their models and landed on the 4,600 lumen Olight Seeker 4 Pro. It's one of their medium-sized models—I wasn't looking to spend $300+ on their large 14,000 lumen floodlight.
Pros
- Super bright!
- Great size and build quality
- The jog dial is such an intuitive way to quickly control the brightness without awkwardly cycling the same button over and over.
- Indicators for both battery and brightness at a glance
Cons
- The jog dial doesn't feel super solid, I wonder how it will hold up over time.
- Turning on the flashlight requires a bit of know-how. You have to rotate the dial then press the button. Not ideal that you have to show someone how to use this flashlight first if there's an emergency.
- Charging requires placing the flashlight in an included holster that has a built-in USB-C port. I wish the flashlight body itself had a USB-C port.
- Not an issue for me yet, but the Seeker 4 Pro does not use a standard 21700 battery. It's an Olight proprietary 217C50 battery that has both positive and negative terminals on the same side.
