Most people haven't even received their MacBook Pro orders when Apple updated the high-end MacBook Pro specification. Now, two base models sport a 1.83GHz and 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo processors, respectively. However, there is a BTO option for an impressive 2.16GHz Core Duo chip for an additional 300 on the high-end model. The 2,500 model now includes a 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo processor, up from the previously announced 1.83GHz, and will begin shipping this week. The 2,000 model now includes a 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo processor, up from the previously announced 1.67GHz, and will begin shipping next week. In addition, customers may now upgrade to a 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor as a build-to-order option.
