WWDC Keynote Taking Place Now
As expected, MacRumors Live is keeping Apple fans and enthusiasts up-to-date with all of the WWDC news (Engadget also has great live coverage). WWDC is an annual developer’s conference held by Apple in San Francisco where new products are often announced. I am flying back to Atlanta shortly so I will miss all of the WWDC fanfare. Feel free to begin a discussion on the news here.
Update: Whoa, Safari on Windows! I never saw that coming.
Update 2: Apple.com is redesigned too.

Well…. that was boring.
Yeah, no new iMacs or anything..
While the new look apple.com which has just launched and is more noteworthy doesn’t get a mention.
Hmm, I wonder if I’ll end up using Safari on Windows… I’ll probably stick with FF.
However, the new Finder in Leopard looks awesome… and I like the new unified look of all the applications he showed.
It sucks about the iPhone only being able to use web apps though… what if you’re like me and always have a crappy data connection?
Safari 3 Beta simply won’t open for me. I’m on an iMac and it keeps throwing up error messages. Anyone else?
@Matt: Loaded fine on our home’s PC heh. Not installing it on a Mac yet though.
Indeed a bit boring of a keynote.
At least now we can think of cool iPhone apps to make

I’ve been using Safari for Windows for about 10 or 15 minutes now and it keeps crashing :S. I like the interface(hate the black 1pixel border though) and the font smoothing is just sweet.
Safari for windows is just awesome testing tool for web-developers and web-designers who don’t have the money or don’t want to buy a Mac.
I’ve installed safari three times on my windows machine at work and get the same results - you can’t type, there’s no menu, etc. A co-worker of mine installed it just fine. Must be interfering with something on here.

@Trey - reboot?
tried multiple times…..
Blah, new iMac’s? I just bought one like a month ago…. I think it needs a RAM upgrade though. Any suggestions? The Apple store wants to charge me $350 to upgrade the machine from 1gb to 2gb but it turns out I can get 2gb from crucial.com for a little under $100. Is there really a difference????
mine craches every time I try to use the Bookmarks or to type into a imput/textarea :X
Installed (and used) Safari (downloaded Safari w/o QuickTime) on my Windows XP SP2 machine with no apparent issues
Installed it on my PB. I think the new safari is faster. The buttons look better now too. But I’m experiencing some weird problem. For almost every web page I open, it will give me a blank page, and I have to refresh it at least once to make it work.

I am a bit disappointed really. There isn’t anything new in Leopard that makes me go “Wow! I must have that”.
Mostly seems just glitzy stuff, although the Automator “record actions” bit is pretty neat. Safari on Windows was a real surprise, but PC users tend to be skeptical of Mac’s, so I don’t see them changing to Safari quickly. Let’s hope that MacWorld will offer something more exciting.
@liquidcourage - the only difference is that you need to install it yourself. If you can do that, I recommend you do it. Self-install is an easy and inexpensive process.
Personally I haven’t noticed speed differences in browsers since the mid-nineties.
Safari for Windows - my take - the only good use for it is to test out your website to see how it renders in that browser if you don’t have a Mac, as someone else mentioned.
As for Leopard - can someone convince me that it is anything more than a feature-bloat release? I’d like to think OS X is getting better, not worse. I still like the styling and feel of OS 9 better, call me an idiot but that’s how I feel.
Safari on Windows XP is indeed very speedy. Just trying it out on my laptop and seems fine. Bonjour seems not to like encripted wifi very much, but otherwise I have had no issues so far. The new “Find” fuction is really, very cool.
Advert blocking is no existant though, but I am sure someone will come up with a plugin for that sooner or later.
Safari runs nicely but definitely needs some work. (The worst part is that I instinctively reach to the top-left to close the window.)
It also seems to have a significant memory leak. It’s running at 230mb of RAM right now, compared to about 50 when launching it.
safari for windows? meh. New apple site design? ooooh…
I like the ipod+itunes scrollable menu up the top- I suppose it isn’t that hard to code, but it looks really good. I like the words/categories over the scroll bar.
Poor keynote, total repeat of last time and Leopard is so ‘meh’.
Not impressed at all.

Safari for windows? It’s all good :-)
