I occasionally play my Xbox Series X and prefer to use a headset so it's easier to hear all the details of the sound without any background noise, particularly when playing FPS games like Call of Duty. For the last few years, I've been using my AirPods Max for this, along with a cord connected to my controller. That was an okay setup, but it was rather bulky, and I hated having the cable. I also sometimes wear glasses and hated wearing AirPods Max (or any over-ear headphones for that matter) with them, as it was uncomfortable.
These Arctis Gamebuds are a perfect solution, and they can operate both on a lag-free 2.4GHz wireless connection, using the included dongle that you connect to your Xbox or computer, or via Bluetooth.
That being said, setting them up was a bit of a pain, and then I had to install the desktop app just to update the firmware, as the mobile app didn't do firmware updates. The sound quality isn't as great as my AirPods Max, and the noise-cancelling mode leaves a lot to be desired, but it works for me. But overall, I'm liking them and would recommend them.
