Wall-e is amazing but made me feel sad at the end, realizing that a lot of truth exists in the film. Very few films give me a warm feeling at the end and the emotion from wall-e was incredible. It made me feel how i was too very alone (fellow geek) and saddens me to realize the true lonliness that shrouds me. Easily one of the best films of the 21st century along with the dark knight.

[...] Next, a very good friend, Kevin Lim directed me to Paul Stamatiou’s blog last year. Paul’s blog is not exactly into PR or marketing but more on tech. If you are into web 2.0 and new technologies, this 22 year-old blogger is definitely worth checking out! My favourite post recently is his review on WALLLLLLL….EEEEEE.
I agree. The movie was great the whole way through which is a rare feat.

The Apple placement is obvious because <a href="http://apple20.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2008/05/12/fortune-apples-ive-helped-design-the-heroine-of-pixars-wall-e/" rel="nofollow">Jonathan Ives</a> designed a lot of the major characters of the future.

I thought the bootup sound was hillarious :)

I thought it was pretty amazing. Very cute story. Kind of a City Lights + 2001 Space Odyssey + Inconvenient Truth.

One of the things I'm talking about is that the Sosumi sound is used as an expression by one of the robots towards the end of the film. The /Film article on all the Wall-E easter eggs seemed to have missed it, so I thought I'd just point it out.

I caught 3 other Apple nods besides the one you mentioned Paul (which was awesome by the way), not to mention the fact that EVE was designed in part by Jonathan Ive. I don't want to give away anything for those who haven't seen it, but two were pretty obvious, and one you would miss if your ears weren't totally alert.

All in all an excellent Pixar film, as usual!

Wall-E was terrific -- maybe my favorite Pixar movie. What I love about it is that, though it's funny and accessible to kids, there's both a) some clever geeky nods sprinkled throughout, like the Apple reference you mentioned, and b) some social commentary in there too, but not in a way that feels preachy.

Also, the music selection was fantastic.

Midnight showings are awesome. The atmosphere of experiencing something for the first time with all fans of the content is a rush. Saw The Matrix: Reloaded, The Matrix: Revolutions, and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King that way. Planning on seeing The Dark Knight opening show in iMax next month -- that will own.

It's not just movie releases that create that kind of fervor. I went to the first Apple store in Australia's opening two weeks ago. The people in Sydney went nuts for it, standing in the rain for hours ahead of time. Apple brought out umbrellas for us and free coffee, then gave the first 2500 in free t-shirts. Great memories they make.
