Using coComment

February 21, 2006 · 4 comments

Kristin has a nice intro to using the new coComment service, that lets you track all of the comments you make on blogs. The reason I like coComment so much is that it is a service that anyone can use it. You don’t have to be a blogger – just someone that comments on blogs. I’ll let Kristin do the explaining but basically you have a bookmarklet that you hit right before you submit a comment on a website. Then when you click to submit the comment, it automatically syncs up with coComment. Then you can log into coComment and take a look at all of your conversations, including comments made after you’ve left a comment. It’s a real treat for anyone that’s active in the blogosphere. CoComment even lets you put a little piece of code on your website to display your recent comments, very nifty.

PaulStamatiou.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

How smart is your Theme? How good is your support? Check out ThesisTheme for WordPress.

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like PaulStamatiou.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

Yeah it’s great, I love it because it’s so handy to keep track of your comments. It was previously a time-consuming task but tracking comments with RSS using coComment couldn’t be easier.

coComment hit a gold mine here. Such a great idea and very well implemented.

Ha, I received a beta password a few months ago, but was never able to log in until today. Not sure why? Any way, I really like the idea of being able to see other people’s comments if the other commenter also joins cocomment. I think tracking conversations in comments is one of the biggist stumbling blocks to online blogging conversation.

I see you also have notify by email on your blog, also a good tool for people without cocomment.
