I usually go with 24 theme as my main one, and have custom .mp3s for all my close friends/people who call often. I think that just seems like a lot of work for a ringtone, reminds me of the Nokia ringtone creator in a way!

Wow, I didn't realize people still use ringtones. I thought most people use mp3s of their fav. songs. Anyway, my current ringtone is Since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson. Yes, I'm secretly a 12 year old fangirl

I couldn't really figure out how to use uploaded files in the mixer. I clipped a <30 second portion of a song (Dragostea Din Te, a.k.a. Numa Numa, by O-zone) and uploaded it, but all I was able to accomplish was assigning it to one of those letter buttons, not dragging it on to the timeline.

On the other hand, I am happy ToneMine supports Boost Mobile, which is my current carrier.

I didn't realize ring tones were so popular. I am happy with the one that came on my Blackberry, although I use to use one I made myself using the sound effects from garage band.

The standard old British telephone ring. Simple but best.
I did have 'Smack My Bitch Up' when the office phoned, but got told off when I forgot to stick the phone on silent in a meeting.

I too have found that stuff from TV makes the best ringtones. My "loud" ringer is the Office theme, my quieter one is Crockett's theme from Miami Vice, and the vibrate/ring is the CTU ringer (which I've had for a couple years and sounds exactly like the one on Tone Mine).

Tone Mine is an interesting service, but I don't forsee it being very popular because, well, they sound like ringtones. It may just be my surroundings and the people I know, but the trend seems to be that people want "real" music. Not only do people like familiar music, but I think people enjoy sharing their taste audibly. Unlike the days of the transistor radio, there's no way to broadcast your on-the-go music to the people around you in the headphones-era (unless you're Radio Raheem). Whether based in music, film, or television, choosing a ringtone can be as much about deciding what you want others to hear when your phone rings, not just yourself. Full-audio ringtones are a way of broadcasting (or subjecting others to) your tastes.

This, of course, only stands true when a person has the ability to put custom ringtones on their phone -- but Tone Mine implies the same thing. My feeling is that most people stumble upon the site through blog links like this, spend 10 minutes messing around, and come to the conclusion that they just don't feel the effort is going to produce something worth saving. But hey, Let's Talk couldn't care less about that, so long as people are clicking on their ads.
