Speed Up OS X

The Mac Rumors wiki is at it again. This time they’ve set up a brief guide on squeezing some extra speed out of your Apple rig. Check it out here. I strongly agree with their points about system memory, using widgets sparingly and repairing disk permissions.

PaulStamatiou.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

How smart is your Theme? How good is your support? Check out ThesisTheme for WordPress.

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like PaulStamatiou.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

Just a quick FYI: with Javascript off (NoScript extension, FF 1.5), the comments page borks up. Specifically the first comment gets pulled into the second column next to Latest Comments, and Related Entries gets pushed between the commenter name and the comment content.

Thanks for letting me know George… my design is still very beta. I’m waiting for the latest release of K2 (hopefully today) before I finish up completely.

ahhh… good ‘ol MacRumors. :)

just a note to anyone using Onyx – i’ve tried it in the past, it has some good features. but i had a weird problem of not being able to click with my mouse on a certain area of the screen. damn annoying. turns out it was an option i enabled in Onyx that was messing it up. just a heads up to you all…

i’ll also have to do that check to see if i’ve got enough RAM. but with 1.5GB you’d think so, yeah? :P

and i’m also guilty of being a widget-mad haxie addict. can’t live without Shapeshifter. :D although i haven’t used it the last few weeks…
