Shuttle for WordPress Launched

May 14, 2006 · 11 comments

The Shuttle project began over a year and a half ago, aiming to beautify the WordPress administration panel. With the help of Khaled Abou Alfa, Michaeil Heilemann, Chris J Davis, Joshua Sigar, Joen Asmussen, Ryan Boren and Bryan Veloso (all top-notch designers), Shuttle has finally taken off. To get a better sense of what Shuttle is, I recommend you take a look at some of the screenshots. Shuttle is not a plugin you can download, instead it will be integrated into the next version of WordPress. The Shuttle team has worked closely with Matt Mullenwegg, lead WordPress developer, to seamlessly incorporate their efforts into WordPress.

PaulStamatiou.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

How smart is your Theme? How good is your support? Check out ThesisTheme for WordPress.

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like PaulStamatiou.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

I’ve been sitting here refreshing your site waiting for this article, I knew it was coming. Your message to me was odd…I had no idea what was going on, but you signed off before I could respond. This is pretty awesome though.

Finally, I’ve been looking forward to this since I started using WordPress last year. Now we just have to wait for Matt to implement it into the next release. Yay!

All I want to know is how long are we going to have to wait, because, well I don’t want to wait Paul!

Yet another reason why WordPress will continue to appeal to the masses. With an admin interface like that, why would anyone want to use anything else? I can’t wait to see this in the next release of WordPress. Although, I must admit my expectations were that the interface would be rolled into a tight little plugin similar to the Tiger interface by Steve Smith.

Henri, it’s a mockup so it’s not coded or out yet. It won’t be released by itself, it will be part of the next WordPress. You’ll have to wait until that comes out. =/
