I guess magnets would influence the transported sound, so not a good idea. The MBP power isn’t influenced by the magnet.

this looks like a great idea as I’ve been through several Mp3 players due to recking the jack socket from dropping it and having the headphones yank out but this looks a little bit too big for my liking. i agree with you about plugging the two bits back together, especially on the bus or train, like mattijs said. i think i’ll wait for something smaller

I love the idea for the headphone jack! However, I’m going to wait for them to have one that uses magnets like the MagSafe adapter.

Seems like a interesting product but like you I am not sure about the plug mount. May be too much like work and you know people don’t like that.

I guess this depends on how clumsy you are.

I don’t think I’ll be using this, as I can’t think of that many situation that I might be needing it. I have a very old MP3 player that I hope will break down soon so I have a good excuse to buy a new one.
And if I end up using replug and dropping my MP3 player on the train, I think I would get very irritated trying to fiddle the little head back into the casing in a shaky and full subway train.

This looks pretty cool, but I don’t think I’d be willing to pay for it. I think I’ll wait until the first time I smash a multi-hundred dollar product to buy one of these.

i have more trouble with headphone cables than the magsafe..

When it debuted on their website, I was one click away from purchasing it, but I felt the same way you did when I found out it was a silicone sleeve that held the plug in place. I think I’ll hold off until the second generation for this one, maybe when they figure out a way to use magnets.
