Mozilla has been coding away to hit their scheduled Firefox 2.0 launch date sometime in the near future (November?). As such, you can now get your hands on the first release candidate for Firefox 2.0 RC 1: Mac, Linux, Windows. The new version sports a slightly tweaked theme from the last beta.
PaulStamatiou.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress
Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.
With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like PaulStamatiou.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

The Tubes seem to chugging along fine today. No sign of dump trucks though…
2.0 is due to go Gold by late October
I thought RC1 release date for set for next week, at least that was the tentative date as of yesterday!
I’m:
- upset that I didn’t know of this earlier :p
- happy that I found out about it anyways hah
Thanks Paul

I don’t know if this is just in my head, but on Windows the application seems to start up A LOT faster.
I tried the nightly build form the 18th and I think the theme has been improved a hell of a lot. That said, I still don’t like it as much as Winstripe, and and still think the 1.5 theme, ported to 2.0, would better serve everyone.
Still, once this semester ends at uni I plan on putting a sock in it and trying to make my own theme. Firefox has a distinct lack of attractive ones, especially compared to other programs like Trillian and Winamp, which have lots of fantastic skins.
Thanks for the links Paul. I have two comments.
1) Yes it does seem to start up faster for me. Considerably faster actually.
2) I like the updates to the theme. Looks good, and I like to progress.
Interface certainly has some improvements. Now, if they’d just get rid of those gosh aweful form elements.
Sweet..I enjoyed the beta…Can’t wait to take the RC1 for a spin!
Thanks, Paul
I love Firefox 2, I am still encumbered by a terrible Windows computer, I love it’s ability to restore a broken session.
Looks great, and keeps getting better.
