Day Eight

Arashiyama bamboo forest, Fushimi Inari-taisha and Kiyomizu-dera

Whereas we walked everywhere yesterday, today we picked a few destinations that were a bit further outside of the city that would require a few trains. The Arashiyama bamboo forest — something I have been wanting to see for a very long — was the first on my list for the day.

Fushimi Inari Taisha

These gates go all the way up the mountain. There's over 1,000 of them.

Kiyomizu-dera 清水寺

We then made our walk back to central Kyoto to catch a dinner reservation at Manzaratei Nishiki — a highly-recommended restaurant with Japanese-based dishes mixed with other Asian and European influences.
