Paul,

You still offering advice on how to configure Azureus? I could sure use some help. I’m 68 years old — a newbie.

If you’re willing: I just reconfigured the prefs (on a MacBook Pro) according to your recommendations and now it seems to be working even slower. Question: How can the Seeds and Peers be such a large number and yet the Progress is 0, or infinite?

What should I be looking for to clear this up?

I don’t know if anyone has said this already but for me its the opposite… i have a router with NO PORT FORWARDING configured however Azureus still says OK to my port AND i get incoming connections (only happens when ports works)

But then again its great!!! I can connect without port forwarding as if i did have port forwarding..

But im confused why it’s happening

Whenever I check the “Activate RSS Import Plugin” it automatically unchecks itself within 5 seconds. No matter if I click save or not.

Sooo… what the heck? I have RSSFeed installed too, but it doesn’t seem to be working, so I was trying this.

Are the two somehow conflicting?

Hi, I’ve a ADSL router and for the port forwarding option I don’t found that item on my router configuration list, at least with that name, but IP filtering option that ask me for Inbound traffic configuration ports and source and dest IP addrs. You feel that I have to configure the incoming port on that option?
I’ll appreciate your help.

hi, i’ve gone through all the tips that i’ve already implemented in my downloading. But the problem i keep experiencing is, after i’ve downloaded alot of my torrents well, on the way to completion, it keeps stop downloading at 89% or worse, 98 or 99% which seriously annoys me. I mean it downloaded thus far and just stops. If you could share some of your experienced knowledge with me on how i can overcome this continual problem and be able to continue my downloading successfully, I’D BE MOST APPRECIATIVE!

I have problem when i use Azureus everything is ok also Nat is green and it uploads and download very well but after a while uploading and downloading speed crash to zero plus i lose my internet connection
even i could not connect to my modem {192.168.1.1} until i turn off modem and turn it on again Please help me to solve the problem

I am trying to figure out how and do a filter in rss for things that don’t meet a certain criteria. For example I want 24 where it doesn’t say hr or 720p. is that possible?

Hey thanks a lot for this. I was having an odd recurring deceleration of my bandwidth on all my torrents all of a sudden. I thought maybe the ISP was capping it or something, so I google’d and found this. I didn’t realise ISP’s actively did such things, but I changed my port to above 50000 and it worked like a charm. Thx!

I removed a torrent… after around 12mb download. I want to restart…
I tried, but Azureus restart the download ….. HELP !
I even tried Replacing all the files from my previous folder to my current download folder …. But failed.

Thanks a lot 4 the port (49155) you are recommending at the top, I felt the effects as soon as I changed it!!!
Namely, it messed up ALL my torrents, seeded or not (“Error failed to create parent directory…”, or “Data Missing”).
What is going on? Can you help me please?

Well, to be frank, this area is hopeless for help with Azureus as all the guides are so OLD.

Most new users AZ probs come from one of three things
1. Trying to download too many files atg once.
Download ONE at a time
2. Incorrectly configured Az.
3. Incorrect Port Forwarding

It doesnt matter if you run both PG and Safe Peer together.
It doesnt slow Azureus down other than the slow startup.
Contrary to what people suggest , i would rather a slow startup than be un protected while the asynchronous loading is happening.

I rarely shut down Az anyway

does it matter if you run peerguardian or safepeer?? I’m currently using peerguardian, but the thought of having safepeer do the job for me seems intresting… although, I am worried that having azurues do the ip blocking for me via plugin might slow azurues down?? anyone have any experiance with this?? I’ll prolly just stick with pg2, but still I would like to know if anyone has noticed slow downs with safepeer verses azurues without safepeer installed.. besides the initial loading delay, of course.
