Yeah, I’ve seen the Office beta that uses these type of files for the Windows architecture. I just wished that Microsoft didn’t have a large market share in this area.

@Lincoln: Well, the last few updates (namely 2003) haven’t really been anything that would improve your experience drastically. Almost all the people I know use OpenOffice or Office 2k.

Well, you could install a copy of 2007 that’s *ahem* floating around */ahem* and run it in Boot Camp, or better yet, Parallels with the new Windows-alongside-Mac thing. Coherence, that’s it.

Failures in cross compatability irritate me.

I work in a school, we get no end of kids coming in with stuff they did at home in works, that wont open in office at school.
