Microsoft, WordPress Redesign Homepages

December 15, 2006 · 8 comments

Microsoft has devoted months of research, testing, customer feedback, and refinements into their new homepage design. The focus of the new design was usability as many users had complained that the old design was difficult to nagivate, which I can agree with. The updated look also fits well with the upcoming Vista OS. WordPress.com also launched a new design.

PaulStamatiou.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

How smart is your Theme? How good is your support? Check out ThesisTheme for WordPress.

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like PaulStamatiou.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

Funny that the page that is describing the new layout, http://www.microsoft.com/about/mspreview/en/us/abouthomepage.mspx — is using the old layout.

Finally! The old ms site was horrible in terms of usability. I guess the wordpress redesign has something to do with Bryan ;)

Yeah, I also like the new design. But it’s a pity that the rest of the site is still the old design. But I still like Window’s Vista site the best:

Maybe I’m late on this but looks like Automattic got an update, as well.

Excuse me, pls, I am still gazing at your words that are blue inside your posts and wondering how you arrive at using those kinds of links.

Would be so kind as to enlighten this ancient piece of barbary before she expires from off the edge?
