[...] Be sure to read the whole thing. Other sites around the net picked up on the new version of Messenger. These include Eric Lam, ActiveWin, MSTechToday, O’Reilly E-Tel (Daniel has some comments and suggestions, which we’ll note.), TUAW(Scott’s comments are noted also.), and finally Paul Stamatiou (One of my favorite Mac bloggers) gave it a shout. Of course, one of the big question left is about when we're going to get Audio/Visual support? Mary addressed that question in the MacMojo blog in this post. Finally, I wanted to mention that Apple released Update 10.4.8 on Friday and it included a couple of fixes for Office for Mac. These fixes are: [...]

The Windows Live Messenger service is my main IM protocol, I used Adium for a long time but the bugs just got too annoying, it was frustrating trying to explain to less tech-savvy contacts why our file transfer failed 3 times in a row.

I've been anxiously waiting for iTunes track display / personal message support so this news just made my day. :-)

titanium_geek: This does bring new stuff, the status messages the emoticons are the two adium doesn't provide. I can see myself using this release way more than the others and maybe replacing Adium, well it would if I could have a tabbed chat window. Anyone konw of a Chax for MSN?

Boo, no webcam support! If Microsoft want us to leave Adium and start using Messenger 6.0 they should include a least voice support...
