Reader Brian Pinard has reviewed the Logitech VX Revolution mouse. Unlike the MX Revolution mouse I reviewed this past weekend, the VX was designed with notebook users in mind. It has a smaller form factor, storage inside the mouse for the USB transceiver stick and is powered by only 1 AA-sized battery.

I use the VX Revolution and I think it beats out any other notebook mouse in usability. The wheel with the “free scroll” feature is probably the best feature. The only complaint I have is with the zoom switch. It’s not comfortable to use. If i were to use/try another mouse, it’d be the MoGo mouse. It uses bluetooth and stores/charges itself in your laptop’s PCMCIA card slot.
Yeah I agree, the zoom slider is a bit tough to slide back and forth.
I prefer my A4 Tech X-750F, 2500dpi, laser mouse, 6 buttons, all for only $30. I use it in 800dpi mode (1400×1050 display resolution) on a HP nx6325 notebook.
This Logitech looks good, but is too expensive.
