Hey this is Karamvir from India. I think "Vienna" will beat Mac OS X and Linux and even the robust and powerful UNIX. Thats what I think about the new Windows OS yet to come by the end of this decade. So, Bil Gates and Microsoft will give a big surprise to customers and its rival companies. Because I believe that the best is yet to come. So, get ready.

I hope that the new OS system "Blackcomb" is not going to kill vista. Vista is a big release!! If this happens, then What. You will probably need windows vista to run the Vienna. I think That we need to wait at least 4 years if not more

in the year 2003, microsoft released windows longhorn which is the codename for vista, and it required 128 mb of ram and a hell lot less of system resources.
in the year 2005/2006, microsoft issued that it will release vista in the early 2006 and it delayed it till 2007.
i happened to put my hands on the longhorn in 2003, and to tell the truth, it is the same as vista, everything exept the visual style.
the thing is that microsoft has bi contracts with computer chips manufacturers that syas it should issue a system resources hog o.s to satisfy these companies.
they are like mobs sucig the money of every peson that wan't to upgrade their o.s whith forcing him to uprade his p.c and then buying the o.s, to find out at last that it is not much diferent than the one before.

I think Vista is an experiment to see what they can improve and add to Vienna, which should come out in 2010-2011

normally vienna would have come out like 4 or 5 years ago. they pulled it back and now are bringing vista( longhorn ) first. vienna(blackcomp) was pushed back for unknown reassons. the fact it is supposed to be the next after vista. don't know maybe they're just bluffing.

I think the problem is that Microsoft couldn't do all they said they would do with Vista so the scratched it started over and then looked to Blackcomb to be the OS that shot them ahead of the game. Sounds roughly like a managenent problem to me, so the way I look at it is keep XP updated with all the Vista stuff you want gadgets(widgets), transparancy, themes, etcetra and wait till they get there act togther with Vienna. Truthfully, there isn't much vista offers that is going to get me to buy it at a $399 dollar rumored price tag. Transparent windows suck, the new media center is shabby compaired to WMC 2005, IE7 still is catching up to Firefox and Opera, the best thing I think it offers is WMedia Player 11 which I already have the beta of on XP. Or another thought if you can bear it is switch to Mac, looks to me Vista is a realease to try and keep people satiatied with new Windows things so they can at least stay at par with Apple.
