Hurricane Rita has just been declared a category 5 hurricane and is headed for my hometown, Houston, TX. From what I've been tracking it should make landfall by Friday evening to Friday night. The residents of Galveston, TX were already ordered to evacuate and Houston had "voluntary evacuations" from the mayor. However, most people from Houston are evacuating as well. A lot of the phone lines in Texas are tied up. My sister and I were unable to get a hold of my parents or our other sister in Texas. I'm curious to see how this all unfolds.
