The other day I ran accross a pretty cool brainstorming tool and free I might add. It works supported on the cognitive content from uniting diverse components from your concept into a list and then the website permutates untested permutations based on the list, which in turn stimulates components you would rarely think of. After running accross it, I utilise it a great deal, because it does help conceptually nifty and good.

Thats right.Paul you've explained some good techniques that i personally follow on my own for creating some good user interfaces, writing tutorials or writing code whatever. But i've managed my ideas and projects without any friends.Because i dont have friends in my engging major so there perspective to see the problem is diffrent.

So in this type of cases what you suggest to others. How a person without a friends can manage the idea or project?

You've done good homework for this howto or tutorial.Keep it up.

I know what it feels like J Phil. Not only is it a matter of trust, but if you want that person to be part of a team as opposed to someone who you pay for a limited contract, then it's really hard finding someone who's interested in your idea.

I'm currently brewing around a project that involves a community where it lists networks and you can create teams for specific projects. Each user would be able to build up a reputation and character while allowing them to participate in what projects they want. When the "idea director" creates another project if they can then call upon for that persons services again, building the trust.

This article pretty much sums up my idea in concept form (don't no one steal it now, lol). Great post!

Very nice post Paul!

I've thought about writing such a piece myself, but looks like you beat me to it. It's like a smalle "e-business models for the web" course you've wrote here. My experience is that it isn't that hard to come up with ideas, but it is how to make money off of them that is the hard part! Shoud you do monthly fee/subscription/ad based services and so on... I am currently taking 4 courses more or less regarding such "idea creation process" in my MSc so I know a bit about just how hard it is to do the next amazon or google ;) But still... it could happen to you!

We find that the hardest part is restricting the number of ideas and staying focussed. It does my head in because I like to think laterally, which means technically there are no limits to projects, beyond one's imagination. But to make a specific idea become reality you have to strip away the diversionary crap.

Like you say, it isn't an easy or quick process.

Develop a network of friends, a close core, and unleash your idea. Nothing wrong with sharing your idea amongst a small crew if it takes a small crew to accomplish your idea. Now I've got this great idea about robbing banks, time to assemble a crew a la Ocean's 11.

J Phill, get a freelancer.
I am a programmer, but with my knowledge, I can't program things that I want. There are lot's of freelancers on the web, but I don't know if you can trust them with your idea.

Nice post. Why not start a blog where you and your buddies post your killer ideas to it? That is what I did. http://www.ideathunderdome.com.

I would also add to cultivate multiple ideas and compile lists of the best ideas.

Very good read. A question comes to mind though. Being a designer [not a programmer] and I come up with this awesome idea, how would I go about building a web application if I don't know anything about programming?

I just find it such a good idea - making a killer idea around helping people nurture their killer ideas. I like that!
By the way, your blog is on my top 5 list - proves you are doing it right..;-)
