Hi Paul,

You should take a look at my OS X compatible program iConvert:
http://www.eisbox.net/iconvert/

It dtrastically simplifies the process of creating OS X icons, even from vector files – all you would need to do would be to save your EPS file as an SVG, then convert it using iConvert – the rest will fall into place! Let me know what you think…

I just use Pic2Icon. Drag the image you want into it and it turns the icon in that photo’s Get Info into one you can copy and then paste as your application’s Get Info icon.

Paul, what are the advantages of this method over simply using an application like FastIcns to save an image as a resource fork of a folder? That's what I always do for my icons and they turn out great, you can even go up to 512 x 512.

I suck at Photoshop. I wouldn’t want to even attempt designing my own vector image and making it an icon. I’ll stick with interfacelift and get others to do the work for me.
