Daylife is Really Neat

January 4, 2007 · 11 comments

Unlike Arrington, I am thoroughly pleased with Daylife – an up and coming startup changing the way we absorb news. Particularly, I find the “covers” method of discovering news stories to be a powerful method of overseeing content. Clicking a cover takes you to the topics page where Daylife aggregates stories for the cover from various news sources. I showed it to my mom earlier tonight and described it as the future of news online.

Yeah, I took a look at Daylife today and had the same impressions. Sometimes I think Arrington enjoys to slam a new start up. But whatev.

Are you just going to be reviewing websites for now on? I think tech news and product reviews were more interesting =P

This is pretty cool especially for people who are lazy to read like me

@Don – throughout the year, PR people and the such email me asking me to take a look at their service and I’m trying to get done with all of that in the new year. =)

Great idea for a web site. There’s so much news in the world you just can’t keep up. Also I have a tendency to look up different resources for the same story. With Daylife you get it all in one scoop. Great site !

Hmm, this looks seriously interested; and I’m definetly going to check it out. Currently I’m using Google’s RSS Reader (Google Reader) to keep up on news. Very dull and boring; I might have to try this.

I agree that the front-page is well designed, though it loaded pretty slowly on my computer and I found the stories they selected weren’t ones I would have chosen to spend that kind of time with. Also, the topics pages was a complete mess and the “smart software” wasn’t able to select the best story out the several dozen versions that were written about prominent news items. I doubt very much this is the future of news online.
