Yahoo!’s Yodel Anecdotal Turns 1
One year ago today I was up very early in the morning in Sunnyvale, CA helping launch Yahoo!’s now 1 year old corporate blog, Yodel Anecdotal. Yodel Anecdotal is praised for being a real blog into the life and culture of Yahoo! and not just a press release outlet. In addition, Yodel Anecdotal is able to get vital feedback from real users with comments as opposed to some other, comment-less corporate blogs.
If you haven’t checked out Yodel Anecdotal before, do me a favor and take a look now. It gives you a sense of Yahoo!’s efforts outside of the Internet world, such as their commitment to go carbon neutral. As for disclosure, I wasn’t put up to this post by my former employees, and did this all on my own.

Yahoo is going “carbon-neutral”… That means nothing more than that they are going to throw away millions to buy a bunch of carbon credits. This is a shell game and does nothing to “help” the environment. More reasons to *not* buy Yahoo stock. Morons.
Google is going carbon neutral too Stacen, what are your thoughts on that?

Is that supposed to be proof that “going carbon neutral” is *not* a shell game? That Google is also jumping on this idiotic bandwagon is not surprising. The vast majority of their employees donate to Democrats and their parking lot is full of Priuses. Look, I have no problem with companies *actually doing something* to reduce waste and pollution. Apple is a good example. But this whole carbon credit thing is a total scam.

Good to read of their commitment to going carbon neutral, (sadly it is the practice of ‘carbon offsetting’, which is less good- but a start).
I think Yahoo! would hire Stammy without hesitation… except that he seems to think he needs to get some kind of college degree first…
