Going to WordCamp? I am.
WordCamp, the annual meetup of WordPress users, enthusiasts and developers, will be taking place July 21-22 in San Francisco, California. I’ll be in attendance for at least one of the days (one day is designated for advanced users, one for beginners). I just bought my ticket and will be in town for an extra few days to visits friends. If you can come out, I’ll likely have Stammy business cards and/or buttons to give out.
Last year’s WordCamp brought in many people from blogger Om Malik to people from across the world (well, at least outside of the US).
As for hotels in the San Francisco area, they aren’t cheap although a few deals can be found here and there. I recommend finding a friend whose couch you can crash on.
I notice a lot of dudes and that guy in the close corner nearly falling asleep. Woot:P

I’m definitely going to try to go. It’s the first tech type conference I’ll have been to. I’ve been trying for a while, but I go to school in the middle of nowhere :P

If I lived in the Bay area for sure. But if you look at the overall picture maybe I can afford the ticket (cost of living in Bay area - cost of living any other region except NYC=one plane ticket in savings). We’ll see what the better half will say, its all business no fun honest.

Yeah Noah told me about that already. I’m already skipping a few classes to visit the way it is, I don’t think I could skip that many to stay for a week+. =/
