What Do You Think of the Photoshop CS3 Beta?
Adobe Labs released the first Beta of Photoshop CS3, optimized for Intel processors, yesterday. I downloaded it as soon as I got settled in NYC and I must say I am loving the improvements. In addition to the tremendous speed gains, the interface is slightly tweaked and seems a lot more streamlined. There is also a fancy fade effect when you change application focus to and from Photoshop.
Adobe also changed the icon to a blue square with “Ps” in it, like they made it just for me. I think I will definitely buy CS3 when it comes out - the cheaper, education version of course.

I’m absolutely loving it. It only takes about 3 seconds for it to load. On top of that, the new features like smart filters make it a well rounded package. I can’t wait either.
I love it. I thought the icon was only temporary - it feels very amateurish to me. The new interface is very slick and feels much more user friendly, it took about 30 minutes of getting used to but now I don’t think I could go back to CS2 as my primary version of Photoshop.
Yeah, I’m sure that the icon is only a temporary addition.
I’m loving the speed as well. My main complaint is not really Adobe’s fault but many 3rd party filters and actions I use are not yet compatible with the new program.
is this only a trial?
I seriously hope Adobe starts moving away from their esoteric icons. I mean, they’re pretty and all, but not very intuitive. As far as the beta, I’m downloading it now, really looking forward to it.

Icons will stay. I love it. New PS makes me so much more efficient now.

A very well done Flash photo editor, the interface reminding me of Photoshop.
Well done. Loads in a flash on an Intel Mac, unlike the CS2. Registering for the beta with a volume license key was a pain, but well worth the extra effort.
I LOVE the new Photoshop CS3 Beta. It doesn’t freeze on my MacBook Pro.
