  1. windows users 90% worldwide, also check Google trends/Alexa for apple VS microsoft and windows Vs MAC. So who needs a MAC ?????

  2. Mac users - the few, the proud, the elite. (wasn’t that an ad campaign for the Navy.. w/e)

  3. the few, the proud, the elite. and with a lot of cash strapped inside their purses. :D

  4. Go watch the WWDC ‘06 keynote now. Macs are cheaper than their equivalent PC counterparts.

  5. Awww man. I don’t like the last 2 as much. They’re starting to break their simple format and bring more elements in. I was enjoying watching what they could do with just those few characters.

I’m not convinced that this is a good ad campaign for Macs. The PC usually comes off as more “likeable” in most of the ads, at least for me. I think it’s just the actors.

  6. No need watch it. I have read all kind of articles :D on the Mac Vs Pc. By cheap I didn’t mean the cost of just buying a mac with the deafult software but the fact that windows has way more Free software out there than a mac does :)

  7. I found the “Trust Mac” ad on spyware quite entertaining! It’s true, these ads may end up backfiring on Apple because the Mac guy (Justin Long) appears a little too aloof while the PC guy (John Hodgman) is very likeable despite his shortcomings, he’s almost cuddly.

If and when Vista is finally released, it would be a marketing masterstroke if Microsoft were to get John Hodgman to do some spots for them promoting the “new PC”.

  8. arer they still conidered viral if they played ALL of them during the emmys? haha.

  9. I agree with Sean, great ads, but I think the first ads were much more effective with fewer elements.

Paul, although you reference they WWDC ‘06 keynote with regards to Macs now being cheaper than their PC counterparts, this is only the case for the Mac Pro vs PC Workstations. I think Apple have a bit to go before they can make that claim along the whole of their product line (unfortunately).

  10. Back to the new commercials, I love the Trust Mac one. It seems even the actors were having fun during their acting, very funny.
