Picasa Tools for Mac Released
Google has finally released a tool set for OS X toting users of their Picasa Web Albums photo sharing service. Jeremy Flint takes the tools for a test drive and reports that the beta applications (one is a standalone uploader while the other is an iPhoto add on) are a start and necessary for any Mac user with a Web Albums account.
I have to admit that I have missed the whole Picasa Web Albums thing. I would be excited if Google released Picasa for OS X, because I am yet to fall in love with iPhoto. To be honest though, will Google ever manage to compete with Flickr?
Yeah Picasa is great. But i tried the uploading feature and it worked perfectly. I hope Google releases Picasa for Mac soon.
The combination of iPhoto and Flickr has worked out great for me. However, if they stuff some really good features into Picasa and release it for Mac, I might consider switching.
I played around with Web Albums recently and I think its got a decent personal albums layout. It obviously comes no where near the community and social aspect as Flickr does, but I think Web Albums is aimed at the Yahoo! Photos or Photobucket user more so than the avid flickrer.
Paul i have a question for you. Sorry this is a little of topic. Why don’t you put some advertisement in your site? You could have that extra income cover for your hosting.
There is advertising, the text links under ‘Sponsors’ on the sidebar!
Edwin - I don’t have formal ads as they are ugly to me and tend to detract from the site.. especially when I am trying to run a professional site. As for hosting, the great folks at Media Temple have a partnership with me and graciously cover all server fees.
The “sponsored links” I have are much more user-friendly and help me fill up the Mustang every once in a while. =)

Yeah man, I needed another one as well.
On top of me paying extra $25 b/c it was overweight, they ‘inspected’ one of my suitcases and when closed, the zipped split open. It also ripped on the side. Good thing nothing fell out. Everything was just rearranged and bent out of shape.
